FAQ - Designers

What's the max ink total area coverage I can use when designing for Stafix?

The maximum ink total area coverage on Stafix®-film should not exceed 240%. Heavy deposits of ink near the edges of the artwork should be avoided to prevent film from curling or rippling. Leave a white border if possible.

What's the maximum sheet size and printable area?

The maximum sheet size is 707mm x 1000mm.  Nevertheless, you need to leave at approx 1 cm from each edge of the sheet, therefore the maximum printable area is 640mm x 990mm.

Can I use hairlines in my designs?

Please contact your printing house for this issue.

In general, avoid the use hairlines in your design; always determine a point value for the line. The smallest recommended line weight for one compact color is 0.15 pt. If you are using lines that are rasterized, negative or contain more than one color, please use a thicker line e.g. 0.25 pt.

Do I need to use a color profile?

You do not need a color profile, but if you need to reduce the amount of ink you can use an ECI profile.

The best result in four-color pictures is gained by using the ECI- profile (SC_paper_eci.icc).

Is there any special requirement for the die cut or kiss cut shape on Stafix®?

Please avoid long thin shapes because they might curl away from the surface. Avoid sharp corners because they might cause the film to tear.

Remember you can also use the clear material that would not need to be die cut or kiss cut.

What colours does Stafix® come in?

Stafix® comes in white and in clear.
