Stafix among Timangi Finalists

Timangi is a competition that was organized by the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy. It was organized for the first time in 2010 and it rewards young entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial teams with innovative ideas, who brought their company to growth through brave decisions and actions. The competition's aim is to encourage young people to entrepreneurship by showing good examples of entrepreneurial success.
The competition was open to companies registered in Finland whose entrepreneurs are between 18-32 years old.
The applicants went through a three-phase selection process in which the selection panel evaluated the companies' profitability, innovativeness, internationalization, brave action taking and their general success story. The evaluation paid special attention to the fact that if the company has been able to employ other young people during its operations and thereby created new jobs.
In the Timangi 2010 competition Stafix Ltd made it to the ten finalists out of 89 candidates. CEO José Ayala and Sales & Marketing Director Aleksi Rastela were invited to the award ceremony in Helsinki in December 2010, where the three winners of the competition were announced.
The winner of the Timangi 2010 competition was Jaakko Alasaarela who is running the company ZEF Solutions Ltd, which develops Internet-based data collection and assessment tools.

Stafix Ltd won the nationwide graphic industry innovation competition
Stafix Ltd's developed Stafix® film was awarded in the innovative technology category, where exceptionally good technical solutions or materials used in the manufacture of printed works were evaluated. The jury justified that Stafix's innovation can help create a new business industry, and the material can develop completely new array of applications. The jury is made up of publishers, major customers, research institutions, educational institutions and the industry associations' representatives.
"Stafix® film has been developed in cooperation with VTT. Such recognition means for us that our products bring a new kind of added value to our customers," says Stafix's Managing Director Jose Ayala. "This is a relatively recent innovation, and receiving a major award will also help the product to raise awareness in the Finnish market," said the sales and marketing director Aleksi Rastela.


Stafix's Glue-less Sticker won the InnoFinland (InnoSuomi) Competition
The purpose of InnoFinland is to promote creativity, skill, entrepreneurial spirit and co-operation in Finland in a practical and creative way in order to nationally improve opportunities for wellbeing.
The contest can be entered by businesses, organisations or persons whose ideas, inventions or innovations have significantly promoted business activities, entrepreneurship in general and the introduction of inventions to the market, and thereby such factors as creativity, skill, entrepreneurial spirit and co-operation in Finland.
InnoFinland was established in 1994 and the President of the Republic Tarja Halonen acts as the patron of the project. Regional InnoFinland Contests supports innovation activities and entrepreneurship. It is organised in different parts of Finland. The regional Innofinland Prizes are handed out in the events organized by regional committees whose members are local experts.
Stafix won the regional prize for the area of Central Finland. The Innofinland 2009 Contest's theme was: Innovations which combine technological and service innovations with material and energy efficiency.
The grounds for the awards include:
- The idea, invention or innovation has substantially promoted business activities.
- The activities have furthered the introduction of inventions on the market.
- The innovativeness of the product or service and the advantage to the customer.
- The continuity of activities; R&D and level of technology; promotion of employment and the competitive situation in the field.

The Tuottava Idea (Productive Idea) competition aims to
encourage innovation and bring new business ideas to light as well as to demonstrate their significance to social development and to the economy.

A member of the Green Office Network
Green Office is a simple and light environmental management system developed by WWF Finland. Both the environment and the company benefit from the Green Office Management System.

With the help of the EMS, Stafix is able to reduce office waste and save on material and energy costs at the same time. Stafix benefits from a newly motivated and environmentally aware personnel and an improved corporate image. The Green Office service, developed by WWF Finland, has been in operation since 1997. Over 20200 office employees are currently involved in the program.
