Print- & Storage guidelines

These guidelines are intended to help the printing machine operators to improve the printability and performance of the material. Please review these instructions in advance before printing in order to achieve the desired

STORAGE GUIDELINES

Store inside at room temperature, from 18º to 27ºC with a relative humidity level between 25% and 50%. A low humidity level will cause the material to wrinkle.

The material should be acclimatized to press room tem­perature in the sealed original wrap for 6 hours before opening it.

Sudden changes of temperature and/or humidity may cause the film to wrinkle.

Stafix®DIGITAL UV-INKJET sheets and rolls are wrapped in a plastic bag within the box. Unwrap Stafix® once it has acclimatized to the press room temperature.

After printing rewrap the remaining, unused material appropriately with plastic foil.

Humidity and dust should be avoided to prevent Stafix® from wrinkling and losing its static charge.

 

INK USAGE

Use as little ink as possible. Heavy deposits of ink should be avoided to prevent the film from curl­ing and loosing its static charge. Total ink coverage (TIC) should not exceed 240% in the color build.

Always use flexible inks for printing on Stafix. Please contact your UV-Inkjet printing machine manufacturer for more information.

Stafix®DIGITAL UV-INKJET adheres on the unprinted side only, if you want to display an image through a glass window from the inside it is recommended you print on the clear material mirror-wise.

 

STAFIX® UV-INKJET SHEETS

The Stafix® film is fully adhered to a 200gr cardboard backer by a low-tack glue for easy printing.
The sheets come in the format: 707x1000mm.
The material thickness is 0.305mm.
The sheets are available as white and clear.

 

 

STAFIX® UV-INKJET ROLLS

The Stafix® film is fully adhered to a 200gr paper backer by a low-tack glue for easy printing. The film is on the outside of the roll.
The roll width is: 707mm and core diameter is 7.62cm (3 inches).
The rolls are available as white and clear.
The rolls come in the following lengths:

  • 50m (roll diameter 15,8 cm)
  • 100m (roll diameter 20,5 cm)

The material thickness is 0.253mm.

 

ON PRESS

The Stafix®DIGITAL UV–INKJET material is printable with UV and UV LED curable inks only. The film does not have a primer; therefore it cannot be printed with solvent inks.

Adjust the UV lamps to a minimum level that still cures the inks but does not wrinkle the film. If the intensity of the UV lamps is too high it may curl the material and reduce the electrical charge. Due to the low lamp intensity, additional drying time may be needed.

Please use a printing profile intended for non-absorbent substrates.

 

POST-PRESS

Stafix® can be die-cut and kiss-cut. Please avoid long thin shapes as they might curl away from the surface. Avoid sharp corners because they might cause the film to tear. Perforating and direct mail inserting are also possible. When trimming, use sharp blades.

 

SHIPPING

Please protect the products well from humidity when sending the finished goods to your client.

Ship the material flat, when shipping the material rolled, place the film on the outside.

Avoid packing the material with products that emit VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds / Solvents) they will reduce the static charge.
