Stafix Won the InnoSuomi Competition


Central Finland Innofinland awards were held on Friday the 6th of November in Viitasaari during the "Inventors Week" event. The Nationwide Presidential awards will be handed out on the 15th of December.

The Innosuomi competition aims to both raise awareness about and stimulate technology and service innovations. Innosuomi aims to reward the proposals, which have significantly contributed to Finnish business. The theme for 2009 is material and energy efficiency.

1st Prize: Stafix Ltd, Jyväskylä (Vaajakoski): Glue-less Sticker

Stafix Ltd was founded in February 2007 with it's electrostatically charged film which adhere's to any clean dry surface without adhesives. The technology was originally invented by VTT.

Because the Stafix material is 100 percent recyclable it represents the theme of material and energy efficiency at it's best. Even if the material is thrown in with the normal rubbish it won't release toxic fumes into the atmosphere. Stafix can be used for advertising and marketing and can be used over and over again. Stafix leaves no residue behind so there's no need for water and poisonous chemicals to clean the surface. About 80 percent of the businesses's turnover comes from blank sheets and the rest from window stickers and other products.

Stafix is a very international company. Stafix has 7 employees of which 6 are of different nationalities. 70 percent of Stafix's turnover comes from outside of Finland. The most important countries are Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, Slovenia and Ecuador. Stafix® is a registered trademark in Finland and Europe. Stafix is a member of the WWF Green Office network.

Stafix Ltd's glue-less sticker has advanced to the national competition.
